Our Purpose

Race and poverty conspire to adversely impact health care chances for residents of poor communities across the greater chicagoland area. Some estimates place the number of uninsured people in Illinois at nearly two million; add to that number, countless thousands of working poor and we will soon be facing a health care crisis. The Faith Based Health Outreach and Referral Network (FBHORN) was created to help mitigate factors, which contribute to adverse health consequences within these communities

Organization Purpose

FB HORN seeks to provide preventive healthcare information, education, resources and advocacy for residents of the metropolitan chicagoland area. While these services will be offered primarily through faith based institutions, they may also be offered through social, fraternal and other organizations and institutions. These services will be offered free of charge.

Our Mission

Historically, faith institutions have been an integral part of the social, cultural, economic and spiritual vitality our community. In recognition of their ongoing efforts, we will endeavor to maintain diverse, non-denominational, faith driven leadership within this organization.
